FosteringMatters is an Independent Fostering Agency which has been providing excellent fostering placements across England and Wales since September 2004.
Our three directors, Eileen McKay, Mike Castledine and Geoff McKay, jointly own FosteringMatters, having over 90 years of social work, family placement work and management experience between them. When setting up the Agency, the directors aimed to offer foster placements that produced good outcomes for children and at a fee that enabled Local Authorities to access our service and make FosteringMatters financially viable.
FosteringMatters provides top-quality foster care placements to children and young people throughout England and Wales.
We are committed to the provision of services that offer quality of care, integrity at all levels of operation and respect for all we work with, whether a child or young person, Local Authority employees, or foster carers. FosteringMatters provides a service that has care, pride and commitment as our core values.
From 2004 to 2019 FosteringMatters was registered with and inspected by OFSTED for all our placements, in both England and Wales. Since 2019 FosteringMatters has been registered and inspected by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) for all our placements in Wales, whilst continuing to be registered and inspected by Ofsted for all our placements in England.
Underpinning legislation in England is the Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011 and the National Minimum Standards, Care Standard Act 2000. Our Ofsted URN is SC061740. Underpinning legislation in Wales in the 2014 Wellbeing Act, the 2016 RISCA and the 2019 Fostering Regulations.
We have a Foster Carers’ Charter, which seeks to create a shared understanding and expectation between carers and FosteringMatters.

We support both foster carers and children throughout, working in partnership with our foster carers, children placed and any professional involved therein offering a high level of support.
